Another NYC Foodie Day… this time with the best friend Brittany!

1) Momofuku Noodle Bar, 171 1st avenue; @momofuku

After a fantasmic experience at the Ssam Bar… I thought we should give the Noodle Bar a go. We of course got the pork buns ((top right) because I would be a shitty friend if Brittany never tasted those) and then we tried the Ginger Scallion Noodles (top left) with cabbage, shiitake, and cucumber. Everything was great as usual and we really enjoyed sitting at the bar overlooking the kitchen. My one regret is that we didn’t order the korean rice cake dish before the kitchen closed, but que sera sera.

2)  Porchetta, 110 E 7th St.; @porchettanyc

Another awesome hole in the wall establishment and apparently a favorite of Mario Batali. We ordered the Porchetta sandwich with mozzarella, a traditional Italian pork sandwich (bottom)… I know I give a lot of positive food feedback… but HOLY FUCKING CRAP this was the GREATEST and I really truly mean the GREATEST sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. Brittany and I sat outside on a bench in silence just savoring every bite. The pork was perfect, the mozzarella tasted like they had gotten it fresh from Italy, and the bread was just perfectly crispy and thin not overpowering the sandwich. *sigh* I may need to run into the city right now for another.
